Though Mercedes completely lost their way in the 90's and Audi wasn't a whole lot better. Such a shame.

E39 pictured isn't from the 90's. The others look dated. The Volvo looks dated, but in a classic way, not a 90's way.

Nope, and did it have a Porsche co-developed straight 6? Nope. The 960 did. The E38 is a decent looking car, but I think BMW's from the 90's looks are way, way overrated.

They were great cars(performance wise), but I guarantee if they were boring as shit to drive, no one would take a second look at them.

Let's suppose one pulled up with the 141 hp diesel, would the rattling of little diesel pistons be imposing then. And I said IF they were shit to drive. That includes the engine.

Uh, there are plenty of cars that are boring to drive yet get second looks all the time and/or are imposing.

BMW 760Li: Fast, but not much fun to drive. Very imposing on the road.

Audi A8: Boring to drive, imposing on the road.

Lexus LS 460 F Sport: Relatively boring to drive. Still imposing on the road (because it looks like it's going to eat you)

Bentley Mulsanne: Relatively boring to drive, get's second looks, imposing on the road

The list goes on and on.

Maybachs are boring as shit to drive, but they are imposing as hell.

In the interest of full disclosure, I have not driven a Mulsanne but I have driven the other four. I assume it's not all that pilot around town.

Compared to all of those, every 90's BMW is dull. Those listed are genuinely interesting looking cars. 90's BMW's look like how someone describes a sedan to a blind person. It has 4 doors, a protruding hood and trunk, the roofline ends before the trunk, the hood ends before the windshield. They just do nothing for me, to each their own. I guess I have became desensitized to them, but they are just boring.

A mid-90's LS400 had more going on, a car known for it's dullness.
